The pie: pay yourself first
Split every income into Living, Savings and Give — and choose your tier: Seed, Grow or Harvest.

Key points
1. Turn the formula around
- Most people do this: Income − Expenses = whatever is left to save. Usually nothing is left.
2. Your three slices
- Living — food, rent, transport, bills, daily spending. Practise contentment here.
- Savings — your future: emergency fund, goals, long-term savings.
- Give & Family — family support, religious giving, helping your community.
Whatever is left of your Give share at the end of the period moves into your emergency fund. On Harvest, that can take your savings to 50%.
